Education
CCI offers a structured training plan for students, physicians and scientists specialising in the fields of immunodeficiency and infectious diseases. It supports both basic and patient-oriented research. CCI aims to increase the compatibility of a combined scientific and clinical training, increase the attractiveness of a scientific career and encourage early independence through its incubator programme, now known as the Walter-Hitzig Programme.
CCI has four research professorships and four tenure track positions covering all areas of immunodeficiency research so that attractive career options are available to highly qualified physicians and scientists. Scientists and physicians are considered to be equal in the CCI.
The CCI is closely associated with the Max-Planck Institute of Immunobiology, the Department for Molecular Immunology at the Biology Faculty the Spemann Graduate School of Biology and Medicine and the Collaborative Research Center 620.
