CCI Junior Research Group Leader in Genome Engineering

An independent junior group leader position is available in the Centre of Chronic Immunodeficiency (CCI) at the University Medical Centre Freiburg. The CCI integrates basic and clinical scientists as well as clinicians who strive to reach new frontiers in the understanding and treatment of immunodeficiency disorders.

The focus of the junior research group should be on the development of molecular therapies for immunodeficiencies. Collaboration with clinical researchers working on these disorders is expected. The junior research group will be affiliated with the newly established laboratory of Cell and Gene Therapy (Prof. Toni Cathomen) and located in the CCI Research Centre with access to sequencing, proteomics, cell sorting and imaging facilities.

Interviews and scientific presentations of short-listed candidates are scheduled for 14.02.2012. The position will be filled in April of 2012 for an initial appointment of three years with the possibility of extension. The start-up package includes soft money for consumables as well as funding for a PhD student and a technician. Co-financing through third-party funds is expected. Payment and social benefits are in accordance with the regulations of the German salary agreement for public service employees (TV-L).

Applicants who have completed internationally recognized post-doctoral research send their CV, list of publications and a brief statement of research plans per email to Prof. B. Grimbacher, bodo.grimbacher@uniklinik-freiburg.de

Informal inquiries regarding the position should be directed to Prof. Toni Cathomen (cathomen.toni@mh-hannover.de). Applications will be accepted until 31.01.2012.
