Getting to Freiburg
By air:
The nearest airport is Basel-Mulhouse which is connected to Freiburg by an airport bus (1 hour). Please make sure to exit the airport through the French passport control. The airport bus leaves from the French exit (as opposed to the Swiss exit). For information on bus times, please visit: http://www.freiburger-reisedienst.de
Frankfurt International Airport (200 km) is 2.5 hours by direct rail and Zurich International Airport (150 km) about a 2 hour train ride via Zurich main station.
By train:
ICE and IC trains connect Freiburg with all major centers in Europe. From Freiburg main station it is a 10 min walk to the University's Haus zur Lieben Hand in the Löwenstrasse.
By car:
Leave the A5 (E35) motorway at the exit „Freiburg Mitte“ and follow the signs to Freiburg "Stadtmitte". Turn left at the first traffic lights into the Werthmannstrasse. Take the second right into the Rempartstrasse for parking at the University.
How to get to Haus zur Lieben Hand
Haus zur Lieben Hand is located in the pedestrian zone of Freiburg very close to Martinstor and within 10 minutes walking distance of the main train station. Limited parking is possible at the University (enter via the Rempartstrasse) and other public parking garages but we recommend, where possible, to use public transport.
