Development of Innate Cellular Immunity: Basic and Translational Aspects

December 12 - 13, 2011, Freiburg, Germany

Venue: Haus zur lieben Hand, Freiburg

Dear colleagues and friends,

This workshop focuses on the basic scientific aspects of neonatal immunity (phylogeny of innate cellular immunity, development of phagocyte immunity, development of mucocutaneous immunity) and a translational part (neonatal sepsis: translation of knowledge into diagnostic & therapeutic stewardship).
We would like to invite you to this exciting interdisciplinary workshop for which several outstanding speakers have already confirmed their attendance. See the preliminary programme below for more details. This will be a medium sized workshop, bringing together state of the art knowledge on fetal and neonatal immunity and how it develops in a multi-dimensional fashion. In the translational section we wish to develop and expand measurable immunological, genetic and microbiological data in neonatal sepsis, and how these data already influence diagnosis and therapy of the disease, and may increasingly do so in the future. We look forward to welcoming you to Freiburg.

Organiser: Philipp Henneke
Co-organisers: Andreas Diefenbach, Georg Häcker, Marco Prinz, Antigoni Triantafyllopoulou
