Current EWOG-MDS trials
EWOG-MDS 2006 opened on the 1st January 2007. It is a prospective multi-center study for epidemiology and characterization of MDS and juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) in childhood. Patients with MDS of the subtype of refractory cytopenia (RC) are also enrolled in study EWOG-MDS RC 06, which evaluates the implications of oligoclonality of T-cell subtypes and PNH clones. RC patients with hypocellular bone marrow (BM) and normal karoytpye who proceed to hematopoietc stem cell transplantation (SCT) with reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) will also be eligible for study EWOG-MDS SCT RC RIC 06. The study EWOG-MDS SCT JMML 08 analyses the minimal residual disease of JMML patients before and after allogenic SCT and chimerism. An overview of the current EWOG-MDS studies is given in figure 1.
