Our profile
The focus of our working group is on mechanical ventilation during intensive care therapy or during surgery.
Mechanical ventilation is the most important live saving therapy in modern intensive care.
Irrespective from the reason of ventilatory support the structural and functional situation is always similar: Ventilator, artificial airways (tubing system, endotracheal tube or mask) and the respiratory system of the patient build together a connected pneumatic system of high complexity. The scientific interrest of our interdisciplinary working group is focussed on all components of all these parts, the biological subsystem respiratory sytem, the technical subsystem ventilator and the connecting system artificial airways.
