Opportunities for students of psychology
Clinical internships
The department of neurology of the university hospital of Freiburg offers internships in clinical neuropsychology. The duration of these internships is usually six months. The focus of these internships are neuropsychological diagnostics of a broad spectrum of neurological disorders, getting to know specific diagnostic methods (e.g. MRI, EEG) as well as participating in clinical research.
Applicants should primarily be Master students with a strong interest in neuropsychology or biological psychology. They should have good computer skills and good organizational abilities.
For further information, please contact Tobias Bormann
Research internships
We offer research internships in our different research areas, either during a semester break or also part-time, alongside your studies (based on individual agreement). An internship offers the opportunity to get to know current research projects and new neuroscientific research methods and to work on a specific project independently.
If interested, it is possible to continue working at the FBI after an internship by doing a Diploma/Master thesis. For further information, please contact Christoph Kaller.
Diploma/Master theses
The current research projects at the FBI and in the department of neurology offer various opportunities for interesting Diploma/Master theses. Depending on individual interest it is possible to choose between clinical and basic science approaches on different topics (attention, memory, language, perception, executive functions, etc.) either with healthy subjects or with patients. A broad spectrum of neuroscientific methods can be used (behavioral experiments, fMRI, sMRI, fNIRS, EEG/ERP, TMS, determination of genetic polymorphisms).
The thesis will be supervised directly at the FBI. The supervision will be coordinated closely with the supervisor at the psychological institute. For further information, please contact Christoph Kaller or Tobias Bormann.
