TowerTool
Analyses of the problem space of disc-transfer tasks (e.g., Tower of London, Tower of Hanoi)
In spite of the popularity and widespread use of disc-transfer tasks like the Tower of London and the Tower of Hanoi, only very few studies addressed in detail the impact of structural problem parameters on measuring the cognitive processes underlying ‘planning’. We therefore developed TowerTool which integrates several concepts of the structural determinants of problem difficulty into a comprehensive and easy-to-use software package and allows for systematic analyses of the problem space and individual problems of disc-transfer tasks.

Tower of London - Freiburg Version (TOL-F)
In cooperation with the Schuhfried company, we have developed a computerized test measuring planning abilities based on the Tower of London. Most importantly, we have incorporated current knowledge about the impact of structural problem parameters on planning impairments so as to provide a reliable and valid foundation for diagnostic decisions in clinical practice.
