The Department of Oncology and Haematology of the University Medical Center Freiburg offers you, within the scope of the service package uniklinik plus, under the umbrella term 'Second Opinion', the following services:

Second Opinion

A Second Opinion is offered to patients wishing additional information about their illness. You can receive a Second Opinion by either a thorough review of your diagnostic findings or a personal interview and examination. In both cases, you will receive a detailed written report along with our opinion for a therapeutic approach which are based on the most current standards.

Health Check-Up (Internal Medicine)

The health check-up is intended for anyone who wants a comprehensive medical evaluation. This service includes a detailed review of your medical history, physical examination and consultation with our specialists (haematologists, oncologists, internists, diet specialists) as well an explicit written medical report for you.

Supportive, Complementary and Preventive Therapies

Supportive and complementary therapies and preventive measures are forms of therapy that are not part of the main cancer treatment (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery) but are able to contribute to an improved sense of well-being and a more rapid recuperation. These therapies involve the treatment of eating problems, pain, physical and mental exhaustion as well as other symptoms of cancer and its treatments.

Medical Nutrition Consultation

Orange

The Medical Nutrition Consultation service offer patients whose diets and nutrition status have changed due to their illness an evaluation and recommendation for a healthy diet. It is also directed to individuals who wish to be informed of a healthy balanced diet.

Costs

The fees are in accordance with standard rates of the University Medical Center Freiburg which are based on the German scale of fees for doctors (GOÄ). Prior to any treatment, there will be a consultation with the doctor after which the patient will make an agreement with the Medical Center, which will contain the scope of the treatment.
