- Periodic review of thermal disinfection procedures in hospital washer- disinfectors and dishwashers
- Control of sterilizers by means of bio-indicators (Geobacillus stearothermophilus, Bacillus subtilis)
- Systematic microbiological investigation of endoscopes
- Assessment of surface contamination (Rodac plate technique, swab sampling technique)
- Water checks and sampling (dialysate, drinking water, bathwater) for relevant pathogens (Escherichia coli, coliform bacteria, enterococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) as well as colony counting (36°C and 22°C)
- Tests for legionella in water including species differentiation
- Airborne bacteria counts (sedimentation method or by active air sampling)
