Molecular Cell Biology Research Group

Environment-related, toxicological research is only able to make a meaningful contribution to risk quantification and risk evaluation if knowledge of exposure is consistently consolidated with that of biological effects. Thus, it is our overriding objective to combine reliable, quality-assured methods of exposure analysis with highly qualified research of effects on different biological organisation levels – from the human organism (individual) right down to sub-cellular mechanism.

Methods for compilation of physical, chemical and biological exposure go hand in hand with the acquisition of data on health effects in humans, as well as verifiable, biological effects in populations and the individual on a parenchymal, cellular and sub-cellular level. Laboratory experiments are as much part of the repertoire as epidemiological or proband-oriented study designs.
