Imaging of Neuro disease Using high Field MR And Contrastophores (INUMAC) |
|
The project INUMAC is aimed at advancing the frontiers of medical imaging using high field magnetic resonance and novel contrast agents. The major focus of the project is on the development of novel technological prospects for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), primarily in the context of structural and functional neuroimaging. The project is structured for five years and is led by a French-German consortium, including the University of Freiburg (Germany), Siemens Medical Solutions (Germany), Bruker BioSpin GmbH (Germany), the French Commissariat à l'énergie atomique (CEA, France), Guerbet (France) and Alstom (France). In France the project is also known under the name ISEULT. The INUMAC project was initiated in 2006 with an overall budget of €200 million, including €80 million in public funding. The German Consortium is generously supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In order to facilitate most rapid translation of novel ideas from science into industrial products, INUMAC, being an innovative project, is conducted in close collaboration with academia, MRI system manufacturers and leading pharmaceutical companies. The industrial partners undertake a significant commitment towards the success of the project. |
