An oral examination is carried out in our patient admissions setting. You are then able to discuss treatment in the student or faculty clinics. Your first visit will require extra time in order to complete your medical history, so please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Hours are Monday to Friday 8 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm. Please make an appointment by telephone (0761/270-49470).
Under the supervision of trained dentists, our students successfully treat hundreds of patients every year in our dental clinics. Patients who wish to take advantage of reduced dental fees can be seen in our student clinics. Some programmes have a waiting list. Because treatment is provided by the students, who have limited clinical time available to them, your treatment will take longer to complete than it would in a private practice setting. As the School of Dentistry at the University Hospital Freiburg, we spend part of the week teaching the dental professionals of tomorrow. The rest of the time, our faculty dentists provide dental care to patients from the community. » Faculty clinic
We also offer the opportunity to participate in clinical trials. We conduct a number of trials which usually involve the testing of dental materials (restorative materials such as filling composite resins, ceramics or dental implants). Clinical testing is only performed with materials that have been proven safe in laboratory tests.
Private patients can be seen on an individual basis by the department chair and senior staff members in a unique private practice setting employing the most advanced diagnostic and technologic procedures available.

Our practice is focused on preventive dental care. Your faculty dentist will recommend a preventive care programme of routine check-ups to meet your individual oral health needs.
