Study Conduct
As a centre of excellence for the implementation of studies, the Clinical Trials Unit advises and offers support and assistance in the planning, preparation, implementation, finalisation and evaluation of clinical studies. Human Resources expertise, adequate equipment according to Good Clinical Practice guidelines and an extensive infrastructure provide the suitable backdrop.
Along with investigational product studies the Clinical Trials Unit also offers advice on studies with other research focuses. These can be, for example, clinical studies for evaluating medical devices or psychotherapeutic problems as well as studies with epidemiological questions. The provision of advice is aimed not only at the departments of the University Medical Center but also expressly at external facilities.
Within the scope of the consultation organisational, regulatory, methodological and financial questions are settled within an interdisciplinary team, involving for example:
- examination of concepts of planned studies
- evaluation of feasibility regarding practicability
- assessment of whether or not the project satisfies the legal requirements
- solutions for the implementation of regulatory peculiarities
- assistance in planning
- advice in the preparation of studies
- competent planning for implementation
- support in conclusion and evaluation
