On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg is hosting an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is aimed at expectant parents and relatives who would like to learn about the options and procedures surrounding childbirth at an early stage. The focus will be on providing insights into the delivery room and postpartum ward facilities, as well as discussions with midwives, physicians, and other team members. Lectures will cover topics such as prenatal diagnostics, nutrition during pregnancy, gestational diabetes, baby care, and bonding in the delivery room. In addition, the concept of midwife-led delivery rooms will be presented. In addition, short taster sessions will be offered, such as yoga for pregnant women, pelvic floor training, breathing and relaxation exercises, and ideas for prenatal bonding. For children, there will be an accompanying sibling program with age-appropriate information and hands-on activities. |
