Epigenetic Regulation of Stem cells and Cancer

I. Chromatin regulation of embryonic stem cells

Our projects aimed to understand chromatin dynamics during cell state transition in the context of regenerative medicine. Using multi-omics techniques, such as Chromatin-immunoprecipitation coupled with next generation sequencing (ChIP-Seq), we interrogate the roles of polycomb proteins and histone variants in embryonic stem cells, induced reprogrammed stem cells (iPSC), solid tumors, tissues and cancer cells.

II. Heterogeneity of regulatory T cells

Using single cell RNA-Seq techniques, we have discovered heterogeneity in regulatory T cells. Each Treg subset represents differential transcriptional signatures, and potentially functions. We continue to explore and identify additional subsets and study their functions.

 

 

III. Assay Development for Clinical Cancer Diagnostics

We develop clinical diagnostic next-generation sequencing methodologies to investigate gene mutations and epignomes in pediatric cancers.
