Student Assistant (m/f/d)

The Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1597 Small Data at the Institute of Medical Biometry and Statistics brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines, including statistics / systems modeling, mathematics, computer science, and biomedicine, to tackle the challenges of data analysis in small data settings. We are currently seeking a student assistant in order to assist the scientific coordinator with LaTeX document creation, research data management including data entry, and Equity & Diversity tasks.

Your role within the CRC 1597 SmallData:

  • assisting in the creation of documents and posters in Overleaf (LaTeX), including layout and references for CRC projects
  • supporting colleagues and external partners with LaTeX issues
  • assisting in the organisation of Equity & Diversity activities including workshops and events for the CRC
  • contributing to CRC data management through accurate entry and handling of research-related information
  • supporting administrative processes such as CRC meeting coordination, bookings, and hybrid IT setup
  • CRC website management tasks

Your qualifications:

  • experience with LaTeX and Overleaf in manuscript and poster creation (essential)
  • C1 level English and at least B1 level German with good communication skills
  • research familiarity, including understanding of publications and their metadata
  • prior job experience with administrative tasks
  • flexibility and availability, with the ability to adapt to varying schedules and project needs
  • familiarity with Wordpress, REDCap or LLMs is an advantage but not a requirement
  • prior job experience with equity & diversity initiatives is an advantage but not a requirement

We are looking for an individual who can remain in the position for a year, with the possibility of extension. We expect an average workload of at least 80 hours per month.
