The Executive Board manages the University Hospital and conducts the business, prepares the resolutions of the Supervisory Board and implements them. It is responsible for all matters that are not assigned to the Supervisory Board by law or the Articles of Association. As part of its duties, it supervises the facilities of the University Hospital.

The Innovation Advisory Board of the University Medical Center Freiburg - recognizing innovation potential and trends
The University Medical Center Freiburg must be able to react quickly to constantly changing legislative, economic and technical changes. To this end, it is important to strengthen innovation potential and organizational agility. The Innovation Advisory Board, which was established in 2022, is an advisory and supportive partner for the hospital management and departments.
The interdisciplinary Innovation Advisory Board identifies social, economic and technical trends and discusses their impact on the University Medical Center Freiburg. It critically scrutinizes upcoming planning approaches and new concepts. Organizational and cultural transformation processes at the hospital are supported by the Innovation Advisory Board in an advisory capacity.
