Ludwig King

* April 25, 1891 in Bad Dürkheim; † April 16, 1974; German ceramist and industrial designer

Ludwig König studied at the Dresden and Munich schools of arts and crafts. From 1922 to 1929, he was head of the master studio for ceramic sculpture at the Karlsruhe Majolica Manufactory. In 1925, he also received a teaching assignment for small ceramics at the Badische Landeskunstschule, and in 1929 he was appointed professor and head of the ceramics class. In his time, Ludwig König was one of the most important ceramicists in southwest Germany.
