The sculptor Ulrich Kottenrodt (1906 - 1984) The boy was 12 years old when the family moved from Brandenburg to Neuhäuser; in 1921 their house on the Steinhalde was ready to move into; little Ullrich grew up there. After school, he completed an apprenticeship as a stonemason at the Münsterbauhütte, and in 1925 he created the six fairytale groups in cast shell limestone for the park of Villa MEZ in Wildbachweg in Ebnet: goose, wolf, swan, lamb, fawn and bear. The fee encouraged him to study. He returned in 1935, initially had his studio in Freiburg, then an extension to the Steinhaldenhaus created good opportunities for a rich artistic production. In 1971, the house on the slope was sold, making way for a completely different development - and Ullrich Kottenrodt moved with his family to St. Märgen, where the respected artist died in 1984.
