Further information
Christiane Möbus belongs to a generation of artists who have been enriching the art world with new ideas since the 1970s. Over the course of thirty years, she has created a body of work that conveys a very unique concept of sculpture. The professor at the Berlin University of the Arts works with a wide variety of found objects, which she assembles into unreal images. Her motifs do not only include the animals of this earth. Movement and travel are also frequent themes in her art. For example, she integrates boats, carriages or a truck cab and thus every conceivable vehicle into her works. Works with giraffes or flamingos take us to foreign cultures. Möbus also works with objects from the everyday world, such as items of clothing, suitcases or tables. Möbus' works are spectacular due to the special nature of the objects and the way in which they are combined to create expansive installations.
