Habitat for wild bees and wasps: Nature conservation at the University Hospital
A home for endangered species: the 2.20-metre insect house has been standing in the clinic park since 2018. Various species of wild bees and wasps find shelter in its countless bamboo and reed tubes. These peaceful, non-nest-forming insects pollinate trees and flowers and thus ensure the continued existence of the plant world. Like many other endangered insect species, they find food in the wildflower meadows at the hospital. The wall and alpine swifts, on the other hand, live at lofty heights and nesting boxes have been installed for them on several buildings in Hauptstraße, Lehener Straße and Lorenzring.
