* born March 15, 1954 in Mengeringhausen/Waldeck; is a German visual artist who lives in Berlin and Ripatransone in Italy.
From 1972 to 1975, Raimund Kummer studied philosophy and religious studies at the Free University of Berlin. At the same time, he studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he became a master student of Fred Thieler in 1977. Together with Hermann Pitz and Fritz Rahmann, he founded the artist group "Büro Berlin" in 1978. In 1986, he received the Art Prize of the Association of German Critics on their behalf. During the formative period from 1980 to 1995, he spent time studying in New York, Paris and Rome. In 1988, Raimund Kummer was awarded the Dorothea von Stetten Art Prize. In 1995, he took up a professorship for sculpture at the Braunschweig University of Art and was awarded the Lower Saxony Art Prize in 1999. Raimund Kummer has been a member of the Academy of Arts Berlin in the Fine Arts section since 2007.
