Herrat Leiber

Herrat Leiber was born in Buchenberg-Martinsweiler in 1923, the youngest of four children. Like her father Otto Leiber, her mother Elisabeth, née von Babo, was a committed and ambitious artist. The daughter also decided to pursue a creative career and became a qualified graphic designer. After the Second World War, she worked as a freelance artist in Freiburg for many years and was commissioned to design church windows, among other things. Towards the end of her career, she worked for several years at the spa administration in Bad Dürrheim and moved back to her parents' house at the end of the 1980s. Like her father, Herrat Leiber was attracted to Far Eastern ideas and became intensively involved with yoga and "transcendental meditation".
