University Heart Center shows works by Mateusz Budasz, Ariane Faller and Stefan Kees

Under the title "approximation", works by the three artists living in the Schwarzwald-Baar district are on display. Mateusz Budasz, Ariane Faller and Stefan Kees have known each other for sixteen years now and have always taken an interest in each other's work during this time. In the exhibition "approximation" curated by Beate Hill-Kalusche at the University Heart Center, the artists confront their respective systems with each other and allow them to grow together at certain points.

The points of contact in the work of the three artists lie in the questioning of traditional, but also non-painting materials, the questioning of supposed boundaries between clear classifications and definitions of painting, drawing, sculpture and object, but also in the examination of questions as to whether there are essential similarities between people, how art reaches other people and on what levels it can and must achieve this. With the work "Känsterle (approximation)", a joint work was created especially for the exhibition, in which the approaches of the three artists meet and converge in a very small pictorial space.

University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen shows works by Hans Rath

From Sunday, April 5, 2020, the UHZ will be showing an exhibition by Hans Rath. Under the title "Trees, Rocks and Water", selected oil paintings by the Freiburg-based artist can be seen at the University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen (Südring 15, Bad Krozingen, attic floor).

Hans Rath's landscape paintings are created in the open air, directly in front of the motif. His interest lies neither in abstraction nor in self-referential embedding in a discourse of art about art. Born in Hermeskeil in 1952, Rath's almost architecturally constructed works are a persistently determined pursuit of the possibility of reinventing reality through painterly access. The paintings, created on location, convey the immediate experience of nature as well as the artistic challenge of capturing what is seen in three dimensions directly on the canvas, without a net or a false bottom.

University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen shows works by Wolfram Scheffel

On Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 11 a.m., an exhibition by Wolfram Scheffel will open at the University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen (Südring 15, Bad Krozingen, attic floor). Selected oil paintings by the Freiburg-based artist are on display under the title "FarbRaum". Art critic Dietrich Roeschmann will give an introduction.

In his oil paintings, Wolfram Scheffel works with bright color fields that are clearly delineated from one another. Their smoothly smoothed surfaces largely repress any handwriting. The glistening light, the shadows, the contrasts - Scheffel's landscapes and architectural views occupy an unusual intermediate realm that leaves images on the retina and burns into it like dreams or visions. The characteristic is captured in a concise form, strangely unreal. There is something magical about the pictures.

The exhibition can be viewed from Monday, January 27, 2020 to Friday, March 27, 2020 on weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm at the University Heart Center, Bad Krozingen site (attic floor).
