Keummi P. Bauermeister
October 31 to November 12, 2004: Keummi P. Bauermeister, Painting
The Korean artist Keummi P. Bauermeister studied under Professor Dreher in Freiburg, among others.

The musicians Burkhard Diehr, soprano saxophone (foreground) and Herbert Wäscher, baritone saxophone, played pieces by Duke Ellington, Richard Rodgers and Cole Porter.

In his welcoming address, Dr Hans-Peter Bestehorn drew attention to the fact that colored lines on a similarly colored background come together to form a fascinating coloristic choreography: "What artistic means must the painter have at her disposal to achieve these sublime color effects?" He passed this question on to the vernissage speaker Dr. Antje Lechleiter.

Dr. Antje Lechleiter pointed out that the artist had found her artistic concept seven years ago. The decisive reduction to line and surface led via representational and ornamental motifs to a dynamic pattern consisting of delicate lines drawn on a color-contrasting surface.

On the attic floor: view of the large-format work

Three small-format works (30x30 cm) from 2004, 2001 and 1997 (from left to right).
The moving color pattern, the play of changing coloristic shades and finally the sophisticated illusion of the eye are perceived as a harmonious color tone.
