Petra Blocksdorf
October 13 to December 1, 2002: Works on paper and canvas
Petra Blocksdorf

The small-format paintings can be viewed on the bright attic floor. The series "Figure Paintings" (14 exhibits) can be seen in the background. The works on paper (mixed media) were created between 2000 and 2002. The other works on the walls are "egg tempera on canvas".

Blocksdorf's rooms are defined by the color values. Lines of perspective are indicated. These are open spaces that continue outside the boundaries of the picture.

The small format creates a surprising density of color. This adds tension and concentration to the room.

The small-format pictures are also conceivable in large format. In this case, however, the spatial concentration would "relax".
There are no people in the rooms. This is obvious and striking, so that their atmospheric presence is tangible.
