Wolfgang Faller
On Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 11 a.m., the exhibition by Wolfgang Faller will open at the University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen (Südring 15, Bad Krozingen, attic floor). Around 40 colorful, expressive wall objects from Faller's "Migratory Birds" group of works are on display. Gabriela Morschett will give an introduction.
Born in the Black Forest, Wolfgang Faller studied art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and at the Ecole Supérieure d'Expression Plastique de Lille/Tourcoing. Since 1976, Faller's works have been regularly presented in solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. Faller's paintings, sculptures and drawings are represented in numerous public and private collections in Germany, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, the USA and Korea and have been shown at international art fairs. Wolfgang Faller has lived and worked in Müllheim in the Markgräflerland region since 2003.
The "Migratory Birds" group of works was created in Berlin at the end of the 1990s. The artist initially worked with flotsam and jetsam, studio leftovers and other found objects from numerous trips. In the course of this process, stylized representations of people emerged, sometimes prancing, sometimes with open arms, but always in relation to each other, so that each object occupies a clear position within the choreography of the work. When the first reliefs were exhibited for the first time in the Willy Brandt House in Berlin, the installation was spontaneously given the title "Migratory Birds" because the sight of the wild flock of figures evoked this association. The group of works now comprises around 300 wall objects.
The exhibition can be viewed from Monday, September 17, 2018, to Friday, October 26, 2018, on weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm at the University Heart Center in Bad Krozingen (attic floor).
