From Monday, August 8, to Sunday, September 18, 2016, artist Keummi Paik-Bauermeister and artist Rainer Nepita will be exhibiting their works at the University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen (Südring 15, Bad Krozingen, attic floor). The exhibition can be viewed on weekdays from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.

At the end of the exhibition, an artist talk will take place on Sunday, September 18, at 11.00 a.m. Beate Hill-Kalusche, curator of the exhibition, will moderate the event.

The artist Keummi Paik-Bauermeister was born in South Korea in 1967 and studied at the Academies of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe and Nuremberg from 1990 to 1996. Her paintings have been shown at numerous exhibitions in South Baden and throughout Germany. Paik-Bauermeister's paintings are characterized by their interaction with colors. Her works usually show a ground tone covering the entire surface, which is covered by a vertical grid of stripes in a slightly different second color. The spacing of the lines, drawn freely by hand, is so dense that the different colors seem to blur.

Rainer Nepita was born in Schweinfurt in 1954 and studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1977 to 1983. His works of art have been exhibited in Cologne, Basel and Stuttgart in recent years. The depictions show different forms and colors of the plant kingdom. The floral models, which the artist has now captured in detail in 130 books of drawings, are removed from their original location and reinterpreted in his works.
