Cover picture of the exhibition by Gabi Streile [Tulip red, 2017, oil on canvas, 160 cm x 120 cm]

Gabi Streile's exhibition will open on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the University Heart Center Freiburg ∙ Bad Krozingen (Südring 15, Bad Krozingen, attic floor). On display are paintings "On the Nature of Things". Introductory words will be spoken by art historian Dr. Susanne Ramm-Weber.

Born in Baden, Gabi Streile studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under Professors Klaus Arnold, Harry Kögler, Franz Bernhard and Peter Dreher. She has been awarded several scholarships and sponsorship prizes. She is a member of the Baden-Württemberg Artists' Association and lives and works in Oberkirch/Baden and Berlin.

Nature and landscape are the predominant motifs in her work. Especially the Upper Rhine Plain with everything it has to offer. Streile thematizes both the fruits of the landscape in "individual portraits" and the landscape space in which they grow. In the painterly confrontation, these appear on the canvas in cheerful explosions of color.

The exhibition can be viewed from Monday, May 8, 2017, to Friday, June 16, 2017, on weekdays from 9 am to 6 pm at the University Heart Center in Bad Krozingen (attic floor).
