Konrad Winters

April 17 to May 29, 2005: Camouflaged Landscapes, Painting

Born in Salzburg in 1963, the artist is self-taught - in other words, he grew up artistically beyond the confines of academia. This is probably why his style seems so original - one might almost say "naively original".

Digital meets pointillism - that is the motto of Konrad Winter's painting. Indeed, with his pictures the artist presents new technical possibilities of the impressionist style variant.

It is about seeing: The eye puts the color elements together to form an image. We perceive more than is depicted, as our visual patterns are already predetermined by the digital media.

The intense coloration and the richness of contrast conjure up moods. You feel as if you could enter the picture and walk around in it.
