Section of Health Care Research and Rehabilitation Research (SEVERA)
SEVERA is a research facility that focuses on a variety of areas within healthcare research and operates on an interdisciplinary basis. It conducts innovative and practice-oriented healthcare research on patient orientation, chronic diseases, patient-reported outcomes and e-health. In many projects, complex, cross-sectoral interventions are scientifically monitored and evaluated. There are project-related co-operations with numerous other institutions of the University Medical Center Freiburg and the University of Freiburg.
The Medical Faculty’s "Health Care Research Coordination Unit Freiburg" (director: Prof. Dr. Erik Farin-Glattacker) is also part of SEVERA. In accordance with our interdisciplinary objective, four main areas of research have been implemented: Health care research with a focus on psychology (head: Dr. Manuela Glattacker), health care research with a focus on medical care (head: Dr. Martina Bischoff), health care research with a focus on therapy and nursing sciences (head: Dr. Sebastian Voigt-Radloff) as well as evaluation and methodology in health care research (head: Prof. Dr. Erik Farin-Glattacker).
