CSF Visitorship - the biannual training course

Why do we need this training course?

The quality of spinal CSF leak diagnostics—and ultimately, patient outcomes—depends heavily on resources, interdisciplinary collaboration, and hands-on experience.

Building a successful tertiary CSF center requires more than expertise - it demands team spirit and a shared efforts to localize and treat Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension (SIH), post-dural puncture headache, and other CSF circulations disorders effectively.

Currently, there are too few centers in Europe and beyond with the clinical, diagnostic, and interventional capabilities to address spinal leaks comprehensively.

Our goal is to support teams in forming and establishing at least one tertiary CSF center per country, improving access to specialized care for patients worldwide.

Who can participate?

This program is open to all medical professionals interested in CSF disorders, with a strong emphasis on team participation

We encourage applications from teams consisting of clinicians, neuroradiologists, & interventionalists.

🔹 Priority will be given to teams from countries without an existing CSF center and

🔹to team applications over individual ones.

How many can participate?

To ensure an optimal and interactive teaching experience, we will accept 2 to a maximum of 3 teams (up to 12 participants in total).

What can you expect?

Participating teams will take part in:

  •  Interdisciplinary CSF boards and case discussions

  •  Live leak diagnostics, including but not limited to dynamic DSM, dynamic CTM, and Cone-Beam CT

  •  Live targeted treatments, such as minimally invasive surgery, patching, and transvenous embolization as indicated
