Arrival by Air
The closest commercial airport is the EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (BSL), served by a limited number of airlines. The best-connected major hub is Frankfurt International Airport (FRA). Slightly closer than FRA is Zürich International Airport (ZUR), though transfer times between ZUR and Freiburg are usually longer than from FRA.
By Train
Freiburg’s main train station (Hauptbahnhof, HBF) is centrally located, and within less than 20 minutes walking distance of the institute.
Alternatively, you can use the tram line 4 (Direction Messe) which departs every 10 min at the tram station near the main train station.
Make sure to exit at the stop 'Elässer Straße' after approx. 10 min. The Institute is no more than 100m away from the stop.
