Interdisciplinary surgical intensive therapy ward 1 E (Bad Krozingen campus)
The special professional challenge! The cardiac surgery intensive care unit IOI at the Bad Krozingen site offers a highly specialized and modern environment for the care of patients after demanding heart operations. Our ward is characterized by single rooms that are flooded with daylight and create a pleasant atmosphere - both for the recovery of the patients and for the work of our team.
A special feature of our intensive care unit is the anesthesiology management, which is carried out in close cooperation with the cardiac surgeons. This interdisciplinary structure enables optimal care and smooth coordination between the specialist areas. After heart surgery, which often involves the use of a heart-lung machine, close monitoring of the lungs, kidneys and cardiovascular function is essential to ensure the best possible recovery.
Our dynamic team consists of nurses, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists and doctors who work together to apply the latest treatment methods and organ replacement procedures. The high level of professional expertise and close cooperation within the team guarantee intensive care at the highest level.
The length of stay for patients is individual and ranges from a few hours to several days, depending on their illness and state of health. During this time, they receive comprehensive care before being transferred for further treatment. Our ward not only offers state-of-the-art medical technology, but also a working environment that impresses with its brightness and team dynamics - a place where sophisticated medicine meets human care.

The professional skills of our employees are important to us. That's why we offer internal specialist training in intensive care.
The aim of our 14-month qualification program is to give you confidence when starting work in the intensive care unit. We would like to qualify you for your work in intensive care, avoid excessive demands and make it easier for you to settle into the working world of intensive care units.
During the practical assignments, the participants are accompanied and supported by experienced qualified staff, practical instructors and the head of the qualification program.
The practical assignments are accompanied by a theoretical qualification. The content includes clinical and equipment monitoring as well as the basics of infusion and medication therapy. The topic of ventilation is covered in greater depth in special "ventilation days".
In addition, regular coaching by the supervision service is integrated into the program. The appointments are mandatory and are taken into account by the responsible managers when planning duties. Participants are released from duty on the ward for this purpose.
Target group: The program is aimed at all new employees who start in the intensive care unit and consciously decide to work on a ward.
