Elisabeth Bereznicki
until September 3, 2010: Elisabeth Bereznicki, >autres lieux<J'attends qu'il vienne, oil, pencil on fabric, 2005
In January 2003, the artist exhibited her works at the Heart Center for the first time. At that time, the compositions arranged in lacquer and oil on Plexiglas revolved around the motif of the cup: espresso cup, cappuccino cup, tea bowl. Today, the public gets to know a new side of Bereznicki. It is about spaces, facades and light phenomena.
Bonjour Elisabeth, oil on fabric, 2005
"Oil on fabric" has a muted effect. The colorfulness is reduced and the spatiality increased. The detail in particular shows how the spiral staircase can be experienced in its torsion and how the "Bonjour Elisabeth" can be traced letter by letter as one ascends or descends.
Beautiful views, oil on fabric, 2005
"Beautiful views" could refer to the interior and at the same time to the suggestion of spatiality. For the view is "beautiful" because of the artistically created color perspective.
The objects and rooms are assigned to the viewer. Tables or chairs present themselves. One would be tempted to take a seat. The viewing of the picture serves the beautiful appearance of the art - an analysis of the picture for the purpose of exploring deeper meanings is dispensable.
