Gabi Streile and Johannes Hüttemann

July 4 to September 12, 2004

The clarinet quartet from Bad Krozingen

View into the corridor of the attic floor with two "steles" by Hüttemann: "Pear tree dark red" and "Pear tree red/green".

Staircase with the large-format paintings by Streile: "Tanne 1" and "Tanne 3"

The paintings of Gabi Streile and the sculptures of Johannes Hüttemann meet in the richly varied theme of "nature". The artist "invents" nature in her paintings and Hüttemann "completes" nature with his sculptures.

Mummelsee, oil on canvas, 420x120 cm, 2004 Nature becomes a composition. The tightrope walk between abstraction and concretion led the artist to a dynamic, almost passionate brushstroke.

Melon pink/yellow, oil on canvas, 40x120 cm, 2003

Proximity and distance are artistic means of expression that unfold in the brushstroke.

Tulip orange/green, oil on canvas, 130x100 cm, 2004

The motif merges with the background. The pictorial space gains aesthetic autonomy. The pictorial object asserts its own artistic reality.

Three sculptures in the entrance area of the heart center

The artist's objects in the rear park area are a surprise.

Nature changes when the sculptures join the bushes in the meadow. The dialog between the artist's works and their surroundings involves the viewer. The result is a fascinating visual interplay between artifact and nature.
