We have in the group of Miriam Schmidts at the Center for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Freiburg University Hospital. The laboratory focusses on rare genetic diseases (https://www.research-for-children.de/growth-and-genetics/. Wie looking for a
PhD Position in in rare disease functional genetics (m/f/d)
The project is part of a DFG funded Collaborative Research Center (CRC) Sonderforschungsbereich SFB1597 (SmallData) (first funding period, https://www.smalldata-initiative.de/).
Within this project, we aim to identify novel human disease genes and novel disease alleles using novel computational tools developed by our SmallData collaborators. Functional validation includes cell and organoid model generation using CRISPR/Cas gene editing, transcriptomics, proteomics analyses as well as advanced imaging techniques.
