Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg - CCCF

Social Counselling

Not only your private life, but also your professional/financial situation can change as a result of a cancer diagnosis. Many social issues and burdens can arise during the course of the illness. We are happy to advise you on these issues and questions in all phases of cancer:

  •     Assistance in communicating with social service providers
Contact with health insurance companies and other social benefit providers increases as a result of the illness. If you do not understand letters or statements from the health insurance company, the job centre or pension insurance, please do not hesitate to contact us.
  •     Disability law
Cancer patients have the opportunity to receive compensation for disadvantages under the law on severely disabled persons. We will be happy to advise you on this and help you with the applications.
  •     Rehabilitation measures
Cancer patients can receive oncological rehabilitation after completing their primary treatment. We will be happy to help you choose a clinic and submit an application. We can also help you with an appeal if your application is rejected.
  • Professional aspects
We will be happy to advise you on questions relating to your job in connection with the illness or if you would like to return to work after a longer period of illness.
  •     Economic security and financial support options
We will be happy to discuss any questions you may have about sickness benefit, benefits to secure your livelihood and financial problems.
  •     Nursing and palliative care
We will be happy to give you an overview of care structures and, if necessary, name the relevant contact points.
  •     Pension arrangements
We will be happy to advise you on precautionary arrangements and support you in drawing up a power of attorney or care directive.
  •     Further information
You are also welcome to contact us with other topics and questions. If we are not the right point of contact, we will refer you to suitable counselling centres where possible.

Our counselling services are aimed at cancer patients and their relatives. We offer individual, couple and family counselling in person, by telephone or video.
