Duties

The ombudsman of the University Hospital is an independent point of contact for all doctors and non-medical scientific staff at the hospital. If conflicts arise in clinical work, research activities or in the relationship between superiors and subordinates and it is not possible to resolve these conflicts through discussions within the respective clinic or department, the ombudsman of the hospital can be called in. The ombudsman acts as a neutral mediator in individual and group discussions and helps to resolve conflicts. The ombudsman is appointed by the hospital board, but is not accountable to any institution of the hospital or the university. Everything he learns in the course of discussions or through his own inquiries is treated in strict confidence and is subject to confidentiality.

If conflicts arise within groups in which employees of the hospital and the preclinical facilities or institutes work together, the ombudsman of the faculty should also be consulted in addition to the ombudsman of the hospital.
