Revival of "Die Krone an meiner Wand" and "Grenzland"

Between health and illness, fear and hope, everyday life and exceptional situations: the diagnosis of cancer brings with it seemingly contradictory feelings for many sufferers and their relatives. Women and men of different ages with and without cancer explore these experiences between health and illness in the dance and theater productions "Die Krone an meiner Wand" (women) and "Grenzland" (men) by Theater Freiburg.
From October 5 to December 14, 2019, both plays can be seen in alternating revivals in the Werkraum at Theater Freiburg. The project is artistically directed by Gary Joplin and Monica Gillette. Further information is available at: www.theater.freiburg.de
Both "Grenzland" and "Krone an meiner Wand" are funded by the Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie with 200,000 euros. "The creative confrontation with one's own feelings not only helps the dancers to cope with their illness," says Prof. Dr. Dieter Marmé, Chairman of the Tumor Biology Research Foundation at the Freiburg University Medical Center.
The Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie at the University Medical Center Freiburg has dedicated itself to the fight against cancer by supporting patient-centered cancer research and promoting innovative research projects. Its declared aim is to use donations to contribute to the development of new procedures in cancer therapy so that as many patients as possible can benefit from the results in terms of their quality of life. This and other projects of the Fördergesellschaft Forschung Tumorbiologie can be supported through donations or a sponsorship.
