Franziska Broer took up her position as Commercial Director at the Freiburg University Medical Center on May 1

Franziska Bro er has been the new Commercial Director of the University Medical Center Freiburg since May 1, 2025 and is therefore also a member of the Medical Center's Executive Board. "In Franziska Broer, we have gained a proven science manager," says Dr. Carsten Dose, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University Medical Center Freiburg. "She will provide important impetus to further strengthen the efficiency and profitability of the University Medical Center Freiburg."

Broer was most recently Managing Director of the Helmholtz Association. As a member of the Executive Board, she was largely responsible for the strategic management of Germany's largest scientific organization. Prior to that, she was Administrative Director at the Helmholtz Center for Infection Research in Braunschweig and Head of Controlling at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin.

"Franziska Broer shares our ambition to further expand quality-centered, cutting-edge university medicine. I look forward to shaping the future of the hospital together with her," says Prof. Dr. Frederik Wenz, Chief Medical Director of the Freiburg University Medical Center.

Franziska Broer studied economics and law at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau and completed the Consumer Healthcare degree program at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. "I am delighted to be working in a very well-positioned team at one of the largest university hospitals in Germany. Working in an environment of excellent medicine and research is a matter close to my heart," says Science Manager Franziska Broer.
