Freiburg food company Taifun-Tofu supports projects of the Freiburg Association for the Help of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents e.V.

On September 12, 2025, Taifun-Tofu GmbH presented a donation of 20,000 euros to the Förderverein der Freiburger Vereinigung zur Hilfe für psychisch kranke Kinder und Jugendliche e.V. (Freiburg Association to Help Mentally Ill Children and Young People). Among other things, the funds will benefit surf therapy for young people with depression and the model project "Working with children of addicted or mentally ill parents". The donation also supports the construction of the day clinics of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

Promoting care and prevention

"Thanks to this donation, we can continue important projects that are not financed by public funds - including prevention services that strengthen children in stressful family situations," says Dr. Madeleine Zimmermann, Managing Senior Physician of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics and 2nd Chairwoman of the Freiburg Association for the Support of Mentally Ill Children and Adolescents.

"We are also using part of the donation to support the project for the urgent construction of the day clinics on our premises," adds Prof. Dr. Christian Fleischhaker, Acting Medical Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics and 1st Chairman of the Friends' Association.

Jesús Bastante, Managing Director of Taifun-Tofu GmbH, says: "As a regional family business and as people, we want to make a contribution to helping children and young people in difficult situations, because mental illness can affect anyone."
