New panel series: Pediatrics in dialog
On May 16, 2017, the "INITIATIVE für unsere Center for Pediatrics Freiburg e.V." in cooperation with the Badische Zeitung will launch the new panel series "Pediatrics in Dialogue" with the topic "Pediatric Medicine is Family Medicine"
Sick children need their parents. Modern pediatric medicine and nursing care needs parents. When children fall seriously ill and have to be cared for on an outpatient basis or in hospital for a longer period of time, parents have to master a balancing act between sick child, job and family, which often puts the entire family to the test. Parents and siblings of these families are faced with the challenge of completely changing their entire family life, habits and routines.
Experts from the fields of medicine and politics will discuss on the podium which new services and innovative care concepts can be used to support these families.
The panel event "Pediatric medicine is family medicine" begins on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the BZ Museum at Lörracher Straße 3 in Freiburg. Registration is requested by telephone on 0800 - 22 24 22 431 (toll-free, Monday to Friday, 10 am - 4 pm).
The event marks the start of the new panel series "Pediatrics in Dialogue". It is intended to provide a forum for the future of pediatric care in the region. Every three months, experts from the fields of medicine and politics will discuss a current topic in order to draw attention to the day-to-day and structural challenges in the treatment of sick children and adolescents.
Two follow-up events have already been scheduled:
On Tuesday, October 10, 2017, on the topic of "Palliative care in modern pediatric and adolescent medicine" and on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, on the topic of "Children's rights in pediatric and adolescent medicine".
Parents of patients and interested parties are cordially invited to attend. Participation in the event is free of charge.
