Your own teeth for a lifetime
On October 14, 2017, there will be a public lecture on the lifelong health of your own teeth
If you take good care of your teeth at all times, you can still bite hard with your own chewing tools in old age - with good nursing care, teeth can last 80 to 90 years. Prof. Dr. Elmar Hellwig, Medical Director of the Department of Operative Dentistry and Periodontology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, will talk about why regular visits to the doctor are so important and what you can do for healthy teeth and gums in a public lecture entitled "A lifetime of your own teeth - illusion or reality?" on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11:15 a.m. in Kollegiengebäude I (lecture hall 1010), Platz der Universität 3, University of Freiburg. Admission to the event is free.
Among other things, the dental expert will give tips on proper dental hygiene and prophylaxis, explain how minor caries damage or other defects in the tooth substance can be treated gently and illustrate the attention that needs to be paid to the gums to ensure that the teeth and supporting apparatus remain stable for a lifetime.
The event is part of the lecture series "Prevention - for a healthy life" organized by the Institute for Prevention and Cancer Epidemiology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.
