Current information on the coronavirus
A patient at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg has (presumably) been infected with the novel coronavirus via a visitor who visited him directly during his stay at the hospital. The patient has since been isolated. Employees who had contact with the visitor and the patient have been informed. Risk profiles of the contact persons were drawn up immediately and a decision was made together with the responsible health authority as to whether a home quarantine was appropriate.
As a result, around 30 employees from various professional groups have to stay at home temporarily. How long this applies will be decided individually over the next few days. Ward operations can be maintained despite the staff shortage.
In order to protect our patients, we ask you to refrain from visiting the Medical Center - University of Freiburg as much as possible.
The Medical Center - University of Freiburg will refrain from all public events until further notice - at least until the end of April.
