Online lecture: Depressive disorders in children and adolescents in times of the pandemic
Lecture on March 22 in the lecture series "Corona crisis and mental health", which is organized by the Medical Center - University of Freiburg together with the Freiburg Alliance against Depression e.V.
The COVID-19 pandemic has also drastically changed the lives of children and young people around the world. Initial non-representative studies from China and the countries particularly affected by the first wave of infections show a clear negative impact on the quality of life and mental health of children and adolescents. The first representative longitudinal studies also confirm these developments. Prof. Dr. Christian Fleischhaker, Acting Medical Director of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, will report on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of children and adolescents in his online lecture "Depressive disorders in children and adolescents in times of the pandemic". He will focus in particular on the development of depressive disorders in the context of the pandemic and will conclude by discussing possible therapeutic options and recommendations. The lecture will be livestreamed on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 6:30 pm.
