Online study: How are regular corona tests experienced?

Survey of daycare children, pupils and parents

Regular corona tests have been part of everyday life in schools and daycare centers for some time now. Scientists at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg and their colleagues at the University of Cologne are now investigating how the affected children and adolescents and their parents experience recurring testing: neutral, stressful or as a valuable protective measure. The scientists are also using an online questionnaire to determine whether there are differences between testing using an anterior nasal swab or a "lollipop test". The researchers are thus addressing a topic that has received little attention to date. The online questionnaire can be completed at https://redcap.link/coronatestumfrage until December 24, 2021.

"It is very important to us to ask children and young people directly and find out about their experiences. This is the only way we can tailor future measures to the needs of children and adolescents," says study director PD Dr. Thorsten Langer, Head of the Social Pediatric Center at the Center for Pediatrics - University of Freiburg.

Children and adolescents aged 8 to 17 and parents whose children are between 4 and 17 years old are eligible to participate.

The research project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Health.
