Compulsory testing for outpatient visits at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg
From Monday, January 17, outpatients, visitors and accompanying persons must be able to present a negative COVID test / Exceptions for booster patients, among others
From Monday, January 17, 2022, testing will be mandatory for outpatients, blood donors and medically necessary accompanying persons at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg at the Freiburg and Bad Krozingen sites.
Proof of a negative rapid antigen test (not a self-test, not older than 24 hours) or PCR test (not older than 48 hours) must be presented at the clinic entrance or at the entrance to the blood donation center.
The following are exempt from the test requirement
- recovered/vaccinated persons with booster vaccination
- Persons with a recently completed vaccination series: first and second vaccination,at least 14 days and a maximum of three months ago
- People who have recovered from an infection with at least one vaccination at least 14 days and a maximum of three months ago
- Children up to 14 years of age (are considered tested)
- Persons for whom there is no STIKO recommendationfor a booster vaccination
Keep appointments - blood donation still possible
Outpatient appointments generally take place as planned and should definitely be kept. In the event of a postponement, patients will be notified specifically. The blood donation center is also still open. Blood donors requiring a test can take a test on site at the blood donation center.
Visiting ban continues to apply
The general ban on visiting the Medical Center - University of Freiburg remains in place. In exceptional cases, individual visits may take place (hardship regulations).
Patients may only be accompanied to outpatient appointments in exceptional medical cases. Children can be accompanied by one person.
FFP2 masks (or equivalent) must be worn throughout the hospital. If required, appropriate masks will be issued at the clinic entrances. Distancing and hygiene rules continue to apply throughout the hospital.
