Small breakfast and prize draw for blood donors
The Blood Donation Center of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg donates blood in January and February and raffles off attractive prizes / New access rules from Monday, 17 January
In January and February, loyal donors can look forward to two great promotions at the Blood Donation Center of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg: From Saturday, January 15 to Monday, February 28, 2022, every blood donor will receive a mini-breakfast with a pretzel and a coffee or tea to take away. The blood donation center is also giving away 120 high-quality coffee-to-go cups and a further 600 consolation prizes.
"In these tense times, we would like to thank the people who make vital medical aid possible with their blood donation. Please continue to help us maintain this supply safely," appeals Dr. Markus Umhau, Medical Director of the Blood Donor Center.
Access regulation: mandatory testing for blood donors
From Monday, January 17, 2022, blood donors must present a negative certified test certificate to the blood donation center. Blood donors who are required to test can carry out a rapid test on site under the supervision of qualified personnel. Persons with a booster vaccination and persons whose complete vaccination or recovery plus vaccination was at least 14 days ago and no longer than three months ago are exempt from the testing requirement upon presentation of appropriate proof.
Due to the current situation, the blood donation center asks you to inform yourself about the applicable access rules before each visit. To reduce waiting times, it is advisable to make an appointment. It enables the team to better plan and coordinate procedures. But even without an appointment, this vital act is still possible.
Clear safety regulations have been in place at the blood donation center since the start of the coronavirus pandemic: health status and risk factors are checked by employees at the entrance before entering. In the building, safety distances, mandatory masks and continuous ventilation ensure the protection of donors and employees.

Monday and Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday, 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
